The Feet Planted

Yesterday I had this.

Sugar makes me happy.
Even if only temporarily.

I slam dunked on Huntsville, trashed Prime Suspects, conquered Ravenhearst.

Madame Fate is creepy. Waaaaaaaay creepy.

But I must subject myself to it nonetheless.
Must play. Want to play. Need to play.

Seriously.





LOL. Very often I have trouble distinguishing my needs from my wants.

Money is always tight. To make sure I don't end up buying every single thing that finds a place on my list(s), I would usually go through the list(s) over and over and over again until I've crossed out enough wants and am left with only the needs.

The usual question I ask myself when crossing things out is:
"Will the world end if I don't buy it?"

Extreme, I know.

Why should the world end if I fail to buy a need? After all, the world does not evolve around me?



But my world evolves around me.



List:
1. socks
2. pink shirt
3. new glasses
4. Phillips ceramic curling iron
5. guinea pig palettes
6. pink housing for phone
7. Cadbury picnic bars
8. camera
9. 2 meters of pink ribbon
10. toothpaste.


Tomorrow I shall buy guinea pig palettes and toothpaste.


The thing about me is that buying petty things like toothpaste (and toothbrush and laundry detergent and shower gels and ...*ahem* underwear and etc.) can be quite a challenge.

It's not because I'm extremely fussy (or pampered or a snob) ...but whatever I'm buying MUST be the exact one I'm looking for. So a lot times, I must go hunting for these little things.

Hunting takes up a lot of time. And patience.

But I can never just settle for a something similar... you see, a lot of the things in the market hurt me, or my skin. (or even my emotions sometimes. lol)

So I always buy the ones that are tried and tested - what is often mistaken as brand loyalty.

I am neither brand conscious nor brand loyal.

I buy what does not hurt me.







I think that is the exact same quality I look for when I meet new people.


I am friends with only those who do not, could not, and hopefully, will not hurt me.


So just as I may have a small list of toiletries that make me happy, I have a small list of friends who make me happy.


But it's always quality that counts, not quantity right?
