The Unplanned Departure
Oh, I'm leaving for Beijing again soon. Real soon.
Got my ticket. My last minute visa application gets done Wednesday.
I've almost started packing.
Almost.
I'm working on my list.
Actually I made two lists, one in writing, and the other in cute little drawings. I'm psychotic that way.
I planned on traveling light this time, but my baggage allowance is between 20-25kg. I don't want to bring too many things that I'll have to bring back with me, but at the same time dread traveling underweight.
Food I guess?
*shrugs*
I'm also heading to Shanghai, and the beautiful Su-Hang (short for Suzhou and Hangzhou)
Google it up.
Most beautiful scenery in all China. Or Asia. Whatever.
Watched Becoming A King again a couple of weeks ago. Started to ponder.
What's it like for him to live in a palace all his life?
What is his personal life like? How does he have his meals? Will somebody taste all his food for poisons before it gets to him? What if he wants to order take-outs? Can he keep pets? Will his pets have to wear ridiculous outfits too? How big is his allowance? Does he do his own shopping? Will his internet connection be faster than mine?
My favorite faded after a few washes. Not entirely unexpected for a canvas wallet, but heartbreaking nonetheless.
Unwilling to be beaten by a washing machine and the people at Roxy, I decided to fix it myself. Sort of a revival if you will.
Sharpies. Steady hands.
And patience.
Finally I have a picture of myself that I like.
*sigh*
Btw, I tried that jacket on. Fell in love with it. Hesitated in making the purchase. Decided that I didn't need a new jacket. Walked away.
Been kicking myself in the ass since then.
It's around the corner.
Usually we play it cool and pretend like nothing's going on. This year we've decided to go all jakun. My dad and I lined out house with these.
Ah, one big happy family again.
...well, if you count five as big, that is.
This year's card is made up of a recycled card from previous year(s) plus a little extra.
To all celebrating,
I'll update once more, but then I'm leaving.
My flight's on the 25th.
