The One-Up
After a can of Pepper and a bag of Cheetos puffs, I decided to do away with the menu in the background. Nobody orders anything anymore anyway.
I still like the banner so decided not to get rid of it. Plus, malas nak come up with a new one... lol.
First up: my baby Holga.
This little plastic has made me happier than any little piece of plastic could ever make me feel (I've never owned a dildo so I wouldn't know how it would rank against that)

I'm only into frame .SIX. of the twenty four exp. roll. Yes, I'm being a little careful with it since I still can't find any shops in KL that carry the 110 film, and right now I only have six rolls.
My dad has been giving me hell about it. Tulah, pandai-pandai beli micro camera. Berangan nak jadi spy ke apa???
My brother was horrified to see a container full of film in the fridge. LOL. No, genius, it's not a madman who refrigerates his film.
I am also looking for a place to fix my F55.

With the birth of a generation of Super DSLRs, fixing analogue cameras has become a lost art. I have been told by two repairmen to send it back to Nikon. Really now???
It's only... 6 years old. Not THAT ancient.
If we're talking about my A35, then that's a different story. It's six years OLDER THAN I AM.

I don't expect anybody to remember this model. LOL.
The final addition to my camera family must be the Holga 120 GCFN.
We'll see if we can get it in Beijing on the next trip. It is, after all, MADE IN CHINA. LOL.

Oh oh, plus the upgrades of course. I want to use it with 135 film instead of the 120. Easier on the pockets.

And speaking of upgrades,
Up next: Associating with the Wizard of Oz

We've all read/seen the Wizard of Oz, haven't we? And we all know the Scarecrow, the Lion and the Tinman, don't we?
Well...
The Scarecrow could do with a brain. If he had a brain, he could think before he says or does anything. He wouldn't toy with other people's feelings by saying big, important things just to later take them back. He wouldn't retaliate like an angry teenager and seek revenge on little mistakes somebody else made.
And he would be able to behave like an adult.
The Lion requires some courage. If he had courage, he wouldn't always be so afraid to say or do what he really wanted to. He could break the habit of spending eternity trying to decide what to do and then not doing it at all in the end because of his lack of self-confidence. He wouldn't shrink away. He would face the world with his chin held high.
And he would be able to roar.
The Tinman needs a heart. If she had a heart, she wouldn't go around despising mankind. She would have the time to make plans for things other than world destruction. Her best friends would no longer be her toys and animal companions. She would be able to look at the world with her eyes open.
And her smiles would no longer be forced.
We all look for the Wizard.
Because we all think we need the Wizard.
We all feel the need to power up.

But real life is far more complicated than storybooks and Super Nintendos. There are no Wizards. No boxes with 1-up mushrooms waiting to be knocked on. (in fact, we shouldn't be eating brightly colored mushrooms, right?)
We don't enter from the left and exit through the right of the screen. And we sure as hell can't kill our enemies by throwing fireballs at them.
(and even if it's not against the law to throw fireballs at our enemies, it's not as easy for us to tell our enemies apart from our friends, is it?)
In the real world, upgrades and power ups don't come from Wizards and magical items. They come from within, don't they?
I wonder if guinea pigs need to power up?

While waiting to power up, I've whiling away the time with my little quadrille sketchbook. Drawing nothing that would attract anybody's interest...

Still hoping to stumble upon a 1-up though...
*SIGH*
Not forgetting:
A very Happy Birthday kepada si-Dia yang menyambut birthdaynya hari ni.
