The Brain Lives
Hello people.
I find that I've been watching a whole lot of Clue in the past few weeks. There were even days where I'd watch it more than just once. I'm using quotations from the movie in my day to day conversations.
Yes, there's a cult following, and I'm part of the cult.
I admit, it may not be just everybody's cup of tea - most people seem to want action, blood, explosion, filthy language, naked human bodies - honestly, these things you find in real life already, I must wonder: haven't you had enough?
Maybe I'm just weird, but I look for the exact opposite. And Clue meets all my requirements for a movie I plan to watch 987346213768325748261483 times.
The intelligence. The insanely clever. The absurd.
Seriously, I'd live Clue if I could.
Phew.
Exams are like what... a little over a month away or so? Which probably explains this phenomena: people are getting a little too stressed out and way creepy.
With the cocktail of tablets I pop in daily, I'm nowhere near concerned. Maybe I should be concerned about this lack of concern... hmm.
Now.
I always tell myself never to write about law here, considering how this is a cafe for dreaming and nobody wants to dream about law (trust me on that) but now I must.
Well, probably not so much on the law itself, no, but complaints about it.
I don't hate it, and though I believe that there are just too many laws written that are really unnecessary/useless/idiotic - I do believe there are those few which we actually need.
I think the real reason why we think we need law is paranoia.
Those who don't read law, please skip this because it will make no sense whatsoever to you. I'd like to spare as much of your braincells as I could.
Lately I have come to realize the real importance of having braincells: you'd need them in order to turn the whole head off.
(now comes the law bit)
Now Hart wrote that the law of nature (or natural law) dictates that we all live with one intent, and one intent only - which is to survive. And the reason why mankind need laws is to aid in that aim to survive.
He listed down 5 truism of human limitations - that which makes human beings exceptionally susceptible to extinction; that we
1. weren't born with body armor
2. are all capable of killing each other
3. always struggle in choosing between good and evil
4. need a lot of stuff to be comfortable in life
5. are all pompous chicken shits and give up too easily
Yes, those who read Hart will know that those weren't the words he used in his book. It would have probably been better if he wrote that way though, because more people would be able to relate to his writings then.
Sure, the whole idea of survival is great one. I mean, who wants to die? And the law is there to help you out in your desperate attempt to survive. Absolutely fantastic!
But I have to wonder whether Hart, in all his study, and thinking, and alleged brilliance, ever got laid?
I guess the answer is pretty obvious.
I mean really,
Is the need to survive all there is to mankind?
Because that's just not enough for me.
And that is what frustrates me.
(no more law)
Now that that's out of the way, moving on to more meaningful things:
1. Thoughts of buying wellington boots again enter my mind. I can't believe the rain hasn't stopped still. I thought monsoon winds change in April?? I wouldn't know. Didn't quite pay attention in school now, did I? WOI WEIRD DEPRESSING WEATHER!!!
2. SO HAPPY TO SIP PEPPER WITH A FELLOW PEPPER FAN!!! And he agrees, so what if it tastes like medicine? MAYBE THAT IS THE POINT??? LOL.
3. Spending time with someone who forces my brain to think. I like the buzz.
4. Karung snack mula mengecil. This person is eating up the junk.
5. IN ABSOLUTE LOVE WITH PILOT FRIXION PEN. WANT MORE. MUST GET MORE. WILL GET MORE.
Oh in case anybody wonders how I'm doing, here:
